Lanai

Lanai is Hawaii’s smallest inhabited island, and groups here are treated to an intimate, private island-like experience that’s big on amenities and adventure but still feels like a place of retreat. The lure is luxury, but Lanai’s off-the-beaten-path persona adds to the allure. Few roads are paved, and there is not a single traffic light to be found. Lanai is calm and composed, which is exactly how your attendees will feel during their stay.

Activities

Whether visiting for a day trip via air or by ferry from Maui or for an extended pre-or post-meeting stay, Lanai offers attractions and activities to fit any itinerary:

  • In sunny south Lanai, meeting attendees find a mix of luxury and tranquility at the Four Seasons Resort Lanai and Manele Golf Course, designed by Jack Nicklaus and ranked among the best golf courses in the country
  • 80,000 acres of countryside open groups to hours or days of exploration, or groups can explore Hulopoe Bay and Manele Bay, beautiful marine life conservation areas where spinner dolphins can frequently be spotted soaring from the sea
  • Lanai also invites visitors to leave the beaten path and four-wheel drive to Kaunolu, King Kamehameha’s summer fishing retreat on the island’s southern cliffs
  • Group visits to the Lanai Cultural & Heritage Center, home to a collection of traditional, cultural, and historical artifacts, cultivates knowledge of the island’s history, folklore, culture and customs.

Molokai

Hawaii’s hideaway, Molokai embodies the word “getaway.” Life moves at a leisurely pace on this fifth-largest island, which gives meeting groups the aura of “old” Hawaii. There are no big buildings — none, in fact, taller than a coconut palm tree —  no stoplights or sprawling shopping villages, but Molokai’s 800-year-old fishponds and 19th-century churches and historic buildings are awe-inspiring.

The more than 170 overnight rooms on the island are all casual in style, but with the ferry ride from Maui taking just 90 minutes, Molokai can easily be worked into programs as a way to help meeting attendees clear their minds, nourish their spirits and recharge.

World renowned as a meetings and incentive programs destination, Maui makes it easy to see to attendees’ whims and wants with aplomb. The “Best Island in the World” (as it’s consistently voted by the readers of top travel publications) is home to iconic experiences made unforgettable by a landscape that is nothing short of divine:

  • Taking in a technicolor sunrise from atop Mount Haleakala
  • Enjoying a dip in the tiered Pools of Oheo
  • Driving the famed, 52-mile (620-curve, 59-bridge) highway to Hana.

With a vibrant hospitality and entertainment scene, Maui offers visitors 14 golf courses, high-end eateries, tennis, watersports, stellar shopping centers, hiking, biking, horseback riding…the list goes on. Agriculture also plays a big role on Maui; farm-to-table dining has deep roots on the island, and Maui’s chefs deliver on that heritage in supreme style.

The Aloha State is an opus of six islands, but if there’s one that sets the tempo, it’s Oahu. Hawaii’s most populated and third-largest island has a rhythm all its own — an energy that meeting and convention travelers feel the moment their plane touches down in Honolulu.

Throughout the capital city, from downtown to the beachfront resort area of Waikiki, the beat pulses in business, entertainment and cultural events. Honolulu’s attractions are exciting, its population diverse, and its ambiance chic.

Oahu’s Top Attractions

  • Iolani Palace, official residence of Hawaii’s monarchy
  • Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum, premier museum of Hawaiian culture and history
  • Pearl Harbor’s Battleship Missouri Memorial, USS Arizona Memorial, Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor and USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park
  • Honolulu Museum of Art, Honolulu Zoo, Chinatown and Sea Life Park Hawaii
  • Diamond Head (Leahi) State Monument, the 560-foot-high tuff crater that plays backdrop to Waikiki Beach

Why Hawaii?

Slider

Hawaii is the picture-perfect destination for MICE programs in countless different ways, and while they vary depending on your group and goals, here are ten list-topping reasons “Why Hawaii” should lead the list for your next meeting, tradeshow or convention.

Productive Atmosphere

Aloha’s ambiance: Survey data confirms that attendees leave Hawaii feeling refreshed, invigorated and completely at ease. It’s a setting that fosters the flow of ideas, inspires ingenuity and innovation, and nurtures stronger working relationships and better teamwork.

Accommodations

When it comes to hospitality, Hawaii’s world-class hotels and resorts set the bar for hookipa (hospitality). You’ll find more than 50,000 combined overnight rooms throughout Hawaii’s six major islands — Oahu, Maui, Island of Hawaii, Kauai, Lanai and Molokai — at every price point and in every style.

International Accessibility

For global gatherings, Hawaii is in prime location. It’s easy to get to Hawaii from Canada, and Hawaii’s multilingual, multicultural population makes people from all around the world feel welcome.

Experiential Offerings

Where else can attendees become paniolo (cowboys), hula dancers, volcano explorers or surfing legends for the day? The opportunities for one-of-a-kind teambuilding opportunities and memorable offsite events are endless.

Natural Wonders

Beyond simply “beautiful,” Hawaii suggests that Mother Nature does play favorites. The islands’ lush landscapes and sublime scenic vistas make Hawaii a consistently compelling draw for attendees.

Hawaii Convention Center

The Hawaii Convention Center stands apart from any other: state-of-the-art, situated in the heart of Honolulu and distinctly reflecting the culture and character of the islands.

Off-Program Activities

History. Culture. Shopping. Dining. Attractions. Sports and recreation. And some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Hawaii has it all, and in abundance.

Sun & Surf

It almost goes without saying, but we have to mention the near-perfect weather, averaging 25° Celsius year round — perfect for attendees to enjoy Hawaii’s beautiful beaches as time allows. Whatever your event, there’s never a bad time to book Hawaii.

Foodies Unite!

President and Owner, John Paul Adamo’s culinary vision was inspired by authenticity and a traditional, farm-to-table philosophy rooted in a commitment to the best in regional food and drink.

After graduating with honours from the famed New York Culinary Institute of America, John Paul went on to work in some of the world’s leading hotels, including Hotel Villa Medici in Italy, Hotel Schweizerhof in Switzerland, and Auberge Du Pommier in Toronto.

He was appointed President and Owner of Hockley Valley Resort in 2009 (after working as the resort’s Executive Chef) and oversaw a major transformation focused on turning the resort into one of Ontario’s leading culinary destinations.

True to John Paul’s farm-to-table philosophy, the new culinary attractions include three new restaurants, a wood-fired oven and garden kitchen, a test vineyard, and an on-site four acre fruit and vegetable garden which yields the produce for the resort’s seasonally evolving restaurant menus.

John Paul believes that the best experiences are those that are authentic. You are as likely to find him planting garlic in the garden as you are to find him in the wine cellar in the midst of a tasting with a local winery
