Meet our Outaouais expert: Annie

Annie Léveillée
aleveillee@tourisme-outaouais.ca  |  819-778-2530 #236

Sales got into my life through the back door. After studying journalism, cinematography, literature and art history, I worked in sales to pay for my scholarship and have developed a true interest for it. For over 20 years, I have worked in different areas such as telecommunications, publishing, the hotel industry and now in a destination marketing organization. My biggest passion is to travel. I have travelled around the world backpacking and have also worked overseas as a destination representative in the Bahamas and Dominican Republic for a few years. Selling a destination is really a perfect combination of interest, experience and passion for me!

10 years ago, I completely fell in love with the Outaouais, a destination so rich and unique in possibilities.  What an incredible opportunity to have the chance to live in a region showing so much diversity and a place with more than 650km of bicycle paths that give me the chance to practice cycling, a sport that became a true passion.

In the process of getting my Certified meeting planner accreditation, I really want to continue to improve myself as a sales manager and to be able to give you the best experience possible in planning your event.  To become you first point of contact for the Outaouais region is definitely my primary goal.

I look forward to talking to you soon.

Meet our Windsor Essex Pelee Island expert: Jason

As Director of Marketing & Communications for Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island, Jason draws over a decade in corporate, not-for-profit and agency sectors and provides direction and coordination of our communications, marketing and public information. As manager of the Tourism Windsor Essex social media accounts (@twepi) Jason also crafts the message and images that represent Tourism Windsor Essex on all of our digital platforms.

Jason also brings a wealth of small and large scale event planning experience to the table with his previous work experience with Global Spectrum Facility Management. He was integrally involved in many of our large scale events that come to the city like the U17 Hockey Challenge, Skate Canada International, CARHA Hockey World Cup and the Can Am Police Fire Games. He uses these skills while working with large and small scale groups to make sure their experience with Windsor Essex Pelee Island is turn key, and that every delegate gets to appreciate our hospitality sector.

Jason is a constant advocate for Windsor Essex small businesses – and loves to help big events have that local flare – whether its locally sourced menu items, wine tastings from our 18 wineries, prohibition tours & host stories dating back to the 1800’s, or bar flare featuring some our liquid gold from North America’s largest distillery located right in Windsor. Let Jason help make your event memorable in YQG!

MEET THE BET TEAM

Tara Gordon

Vice-president Sales & Service
tgordon@torcvb.com

”My passion is urban design, so when I have the opportunity to explore the city I always seek out areas that showcase adaptive reuse at work. Whether it’s discovering a new designer shop in a tucked-away laneway of the Distillery District or exploring the market at the Evergreen Brick Works, I love to see how our past is incorporated into the present. This makes me very excited for the development by Sidewalk Labs of a smart city and how that space is transformed in the coming years!”

Loren Christie

Director of Sales, Canada & International Congress
lchristie@torcvb.com

”The rooftop of the Broadview Hotel is one of my personal favourite places in the city. It offers a fantastic bar with great views of the increasingly hip Queen Street East. Having lived in the area for 20 years it has been amazing to watch the changes to the neighbourhood.”

Jane Eastmure

Director of Sales, U.S. Market
jeastmure@torcvb.com

”On Saturday mornings I love to go to the St. Lawrence Market. The area comes alive with fresh offerings of produce, meats and cheeses from the nearby farms and local vendors. The flavours and tastes reflect the diversity of our city!”

Mark Crawford Director

International Business Development
mcrawford@torcvb.com

”My favourite restaurant in Toronto is Susur Lee’s namesake restaurant, Lee. Located in the heart of the King Street West neighbourhood, its location offers lots of options for before and after dinner activities. If you go, don’t leave without trying Chef’s signature, 19-ingredient Singapore Slaw!”

Kathryn Wakefield

Director of Client Services
kwakefield@torcvb.com

”There are so many amazing places in our city, but my favourite has to be watching A Midsummer Night’s Dream in the outdoor amphitheatre in High Park. The performances draw you in to the point that you sometimes forget you are even in the city.”

Meet our Lake Louise Expert

Sales entered my life through the back door. After starting my career in the culinary field and specializing in Pastries, I was longing for guest interaction. It was always a childhood dream to live in the mountains… The day after I was presented Chef of the Year at my college in England by HRH Princess Diana, I immigrated to Canada and fell in love with life in the Canadian Rockies.

I started with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in 1989, working my way through various departments and increasing my knowledge of the hotel operations. I fell into the position of Sales Manager, where the salesperson in me naturally surfaced. My biggest passion is to travel and this job took me to New York, Bermuda and Florida in the following years. Alas, it seems I was destined to move back to the Canadian Rockies and since 2008, I have been a big reference book for all kinds of groups.

Selling a one-of-a-kind mountain destination in the heart of Banff National Park is the perfect combination of interest, experience and passion for me! My primary goal is to share my love for mountain adventure with others by creating memorable programming. Let’s chat and see how we can make your Canadian Rockies experience come alive.

I look forward to talking to you soon.
