The Journey
Upon landing at Calgary International Airport, you will get your first glimpse of the Rocky Mountains in the distance on a clear day. In approximately two hours, you will be in the heart of those mountains, in beautiful Lake Louise.
The Trans-Canada Highway 1 will take you all the way to Lake Louise. It is safe and well-maintained, even in winter. If you are traveling by coach, be sure to claim a window seat. Buckle up and soak in the views of the vast, pristine landscape. National Geographic has deemed the Canadian Rockies Alberta’s Best Road Trip and for good reason.
Travel past the quaint mountain town of Canmore before entering through the Banff National Park gates. It is not uncommon to spot wildlife on this portion of the drive, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for bears, deer, elk and more species that call the park home.
There are many shuttle services that operate between Calgary International Airport and Lake Louise and can accommodate large groups. Learn more.
